After more than 20 years from the launch of the first pieces of software for computer-assisted translation, today the wide-band telecommunications networks allow the development of new tools and work-flows. After a short introduction, this paper will focus on cloud-based computer-assisted translation and crowdsourcing translation with special attention to the issues of deontological and practical nature.
