I nostri antenati di Italo Calvino e la modernità del fantastico

This essay aims to point out the modernity of Calvino’s Fantastic through the study of his considerations on this theme and through the reading of the trilogy Our ancestors. I will offer an analysis which will study the topic according to modalities which are attributable to the Fantastic literature of XX century, as the loss of identity (the Viscount), the satire of the society and the spatial distortions (the Baron), the parodic use of myth (the Invisible Knight).

Questo lavoro intende offrire uno spazio per la messa in luce della modernità del fantastico calviniano attraverso lo studio delle sue riflessioni sul tema e la lettura della trilogia I nostri antenati. Verrà offerta un’analisi che affronterà l’argomento secondo modalità ascrivibili al fantastico novecentesco, come gli smarrimenti dell’identità (Visconte), la satira della società e le distorsioni spaziali (Barone), l’uso parodistico del mito (Cavaliere).
