The article analyses the role of Public Art as a transmedia and participatory phenomenon, focusing on the case of Naples. Starting from the events related to Venere degli stracci and Tu si’ ’na cosa grande, produced within the Napoli Contemporanea cultural programme, it highlights how artworks are no longer static objects but «source texts» capable of generating dispersed narratives across urban space and digital media. Images shared on social media do not merely document, but produce meaning, activating collective processes of interpretation, appropriation and remixing. In this context, the public becomes the protagonist, transforming spectators into «prosumers » who contribute to the construction of a shared imaginary. Public Art thus takes shape as a social and political device, capable of fostering civic awareness and urban regeneration.

Abstract
Public Art thus takes shape as a social and political device, capable of fostering civic awareness and urban regeneration.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
