This chapter examines the dynamic relationship between tourism and creative industries (CCIs), focusing on France and Italy as global leaders in both sectors. The analysis highlights the evolution from heritage-focused tourism to a tourism model increasingly integrated with the creative economy, showcasing how CCIs enhance destination appeal, foster innovation, and promote economic growth. It proposes a framework to explore three levels of interaction between tourism and CCIs: tourism offer and place attractiveness, supply chain relationships, and branding/export promotion. These interactions reveal collaboration and value creation patterns, challenging traditional business models and driving the need for new knowledge and skills among managers and workers in CCIs. The chapter also discusses critical issues such as sustainability, overtourism, and cultural commodification while identifying opportunities for policy and investment to strengthen sectoral integration. Recommendations include leveraging soft regulation tools, fostering public-private partnerships, and collaborating with universities to train interdisciplinary professionals who can bridge industry gaps. The chapter concludes by proposing future research avenues to explore further this multifaceted relationship and its implications for the CCI literature and global tourism strategies.
