A series of collateral events went beyond the mere exhibition of furniture units in Milan, creating scenes for reflection on the meaning of industrial design products. The article is a critical contribution on the “Salone del Mobile” 1996 starting from some thematic exhibitions complementary to the main exposure. Each thematic contribution examined frames a specific problem of contemporary design showing how the Furniture Fair may be not just a showcase of trendy products but an interesting moment of reflection on the project and its history.
L'articolo rappresenta un contributo critico sul Salone del Mobile 1996 a partire da alcune mostre tematiche complementari all'esposizione principale. Ogni singolo contributo tematico preso in esame inquadrerebbe una problematica specifica del design contemporaneo dimostrando come il Salone del Mobile possa essere non una semplice vetrina di prodotti alla moda ma un interessante momento di riflessione sul progetto e la sua storia.
