From Epidaurus to Vicenza: the great Greek director Theodoros Terzopoulos returns to the Teatro Olimpico, thirty years after his last direction in Vicenza (Antigone, 1994). He inaugurates the local festival of classical performances with the national premiere of his Aeschylus' Oresteia after a triumphal debut at the Greek theater of Epidaurus (12-13 July 2024). The artistic directors of Teatro Olimpico, Ermanna Montanari and Marco Martinelli (Teatro delle Albe, Ravenna) invited Terzopoulos for his lifetime work, particularly on the chorus, root and pivot of ancient Greek theatre, which has always been a theoretical and practical cornerstone both for the Greek director and his Teatro Attis as well as for Teatro delle Albe (Ravenna).

Abstract
From Epidaurus to Vicenza: the great Greek director Theodoros Terzopoulos returns to the Teatro Olimpico, thirty years after his last direction in Vicenza (Antigone, 1994). He inaugurates the local festival of classical performances with the national premiere of his Aeschylus' Oresteia after a triumphal debut at the Greek theater of Epidaurus (12-13 July 2024). The artistic directors of Teatro Olimpico, Ermanna Montanari and Marco Martinelli (Teatro delle Albe, Ravenna) invited Terzopoulos for his lifetime work, particularly on the chorus, root and pivot of ancient Greek theatre, which has always been a theoretical and practical cornerstone both for the Greek director and his Teatro Attis as well as for Teatro delle Albe (Ravenna).File | Dimensione | Formato | |
