The analysis of book reviews in comics form from the 1990s onwards offers a compelling lens through which to examine the evolving landscape of literary criticism and the relationship between comics and literature, particularly the incorporation of debates on film, music, and art. This trend represents a significant shift from traditional book reviews, broadening the scope of analysis to include interdisciplinary elements and offering a more comprehensive perspective on the works being reviewed. The roots of this trend can be traced back to the foundation laid during the 1960s by Marcello Piccardo and Guido Crepax. This first generation of reviewers focused exclusively on reviewing literary works. This study examines literary reviews by Guido Crepax in Linus (1993-1995), Marco Petrella in l’Unità (2001-2014), and Zerocalcare in Corriere della Sera (2013). The analysis aims to demonstrate how these critics effectively approached interdisciplinary topics, seamlessly reviewing literature, cinema, music, and art. The study sheds light on the dynamic interplay between comics and other media and art forms in the realm of literary criticism.

Abstract
The study sheds light on the dynamic interplay between comics and other media and art forms in the realm of literary criticism.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
