Fenomenologia della bugia nella commedia cinematografica italiana

Lie is one of the basic features of how Italians represent themselves. But how Italians lie? This PhD project aims to focus on how italian comedy, a genre traditionally bounded to the representation of everyday life and usual italian behaviours, shows the mise-en-scène and the fiction of Italian people. In the first part of this dissertation, space was given to a theoretical analysis of the genre of comedy and the concept of lie; in the second part attempts have been made to outline a sample of masks of liars and to observe how historical evolution of the cinematographic homo mendax narrates and mirrors the sociocultural evolution of our country. This journey has been outlined through a diachronical route that from the comedies of the thirties reaches the contemporary ages.
