In the Eumenides' dramatic plot, Aeschylus managed to combine the political and cultural climate of fifth-century Athens with much earlier memories. These trace their origins to the events derived from the struggle between the new celestial and paternal gods (brought by the Indoeuropeans on the Mediterranean shore) and the ancient chthonic and maternal deities, cultural heritage of the people who lived in that area before.

Abstract
In the Eumenides' dramatic plot, Aeschylus managed to combine the political and cultural climate of fifth-century Athens with much earlier memories. These trace their origins to the events derived from the struggle between the new celestial and paternal gods (brought by the Indoeuropeans on the Mediterranean shore) and the ancient chthonic and maternal deities, cultural heritage of the people who lived in that area before.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
