In this paper we propose an analysis of the ethnographical and linguistic situation of the Crete shown in the Odyssey XIX, lines 172-7, in a linguistic perspective. Great relevance is given to the outline of the second millenium. We are going to present some of the consequences deriving from the interpretation of the Linear A script, and some suggestions about Cretan hieroglyphic texts.
In questo articolo viene analizzata la situazione etnologica e linguistica di Creta descritta in Odissea XIX 172-7 dal punto di vista del dato linguistico, in particolare in riferimento al II millennio. In pari tempo, si considerano i dati emergenti dalla documentazione in Lineare A.
