Among the possible types of iconotext, this article takes into consideration the illustrated book. Although derived from a pre-existing verbal text, the illustration is constituted, at best, as an autonomous unit of meaning, qualifying itself as a second but not secondary presence. Here we observe, in particular, the tensive energy that is established between some gipsy romances by Federico García Lorca and their image by Rafael Alberti, capable of establishing itself as a powerful remediation, not detached from the aesthetic suggestions of dance.

Abstract
Among the possible types of iconotext, this article takes into consideration the illustrated book. Although derived from a pre-existing verbal text, the illustration is constituted, at best, as an autonomous unit of meaning, qualifying itself as a second but not secondary presence. Here we observe, in particular, the tensive energy that is established between some gipsy romances by Federico García Lorca and their image by Rafael Alberti, capable of establishing itself as a powerful remediation, not detached from the aesthetic suggestions of dance.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
