This paper aims to analyze sign-names of deaf people, their connections with the proper names system of the spoken language and the intercultural strategies devoted to the maintenance of a double identity, valid both in the deaf and in the hearing cultural world. Moreover, we will investigate some new emerging typologies of sign-names among the deaf people.

Abstract
