The paper in an analysis of Gacela del amor imprevisto, the opening poem of the collection Diván del Tamarit, by Federico García Lorca. The text is examined in its metrical and phonetic, stylistic and rhetorical, thematic and symbolic features. The analysis of these textual levels is aimed at identifying a composing model, which will recur in the whole collection, characterized by a dialectic relationship between eros and form and by a personal, dysphoric revisit of themes and subjects of the traditional love lyric.
