Collaborative Translation: Product Quality Assurance and Practice Evaluation

The study of Collaborative Translation has only in the last few years become part of Translation Studies, giving rise to a vast number of questions related to this practice, which in turn open up the analysis of an equally great number of issues. Among these are concerns regarding the evaluation and quality assurance of translations carried out collaboratively, a crucial issue especially when dealing with collaboration between semi-professionals and non-professionals. It is precisely this analysis that will be developed in this essay: in particular, we will analyze the answers to a questionnaire that was specifically created to evaluate the collaborative translation process and the final product, both in terms of the quality of the translated text and of the usefulness for the translators in terms of skills and from a personal point of view.
