Metamorfosi dello spazio. Annotazioni sul divenire metropolitano

The goal of this book is a critical analysis of some metamorphosis space courses that today concern the metropolis becoming (from non-places to thematic parks, from bunker cities to new suburbs) and the changes that these courses have in the architectonic field, also beginning from the great influence of the electronic technologies in the our time. This analysis has a multidisciplinary character with reference to well-known scholars of contemporaneity like philosophers (Michel Foucault, Gille Deleuze, Jean Baudrillard, Pierre Lévy), anthropologists (Marc Augé), sociologists (Zygmunt Bauman e David Harvey), town planners (Paul Virilio), geographers (Mike Davis), and many others. In general, today the relation between the nature and the artificial is changing, bringing the designer to a critical revision of own profession, through new questions and new possibilities of action on the everyday life. In particular, some of the contemporary architects examined are Jean Nouvel, Toyo Ito, Rem Koolhaas. Moreover this analysis is also about some architectural phenomena like the “world shopping center building”, the “screen architectonic building” and the “media building”.

Il testo analizza criticamente alcuni processi di metamorfosi dello spazio che attualmente interessano il divenire della metropoli (dai non-luoghi ai parchi a tema, dalle città bunker alle nuove periferie) e i cambiamenti che tali processi portano in campo architettonico, anche a partire da un protagonismo sempre più marcato delle tecnologie elettroniche. L’analisi effettuata ha un carattere multidisciplinare con riferimento a noti studiosi della contemporaneità, in particolare: filosofi come Michel Foucault, Gille Deleuze, Jean Baudrillard, Pierre Lévy; antropologi come Marc Augé; sociologi come Zygmunt Bauman e David Harvey; urbanisti come Paul Virilio; geografi come Mike Davis. In generale, oggi è il rapporto tra natura e artificio che sta cambiando, conducendo il progettista ad una revisione critica della propria attività professionale attraverso nuovi quesiti e nuove possibilità di azione sul quotidiano. Tra i protagonisti del panorama architettonico contemporaneo preso in esame figurano in particolare Jean Nouvel, Toyo Ito, Rem Koolhaas. Vengono inoltre analizzati alcuni recenti fenomeni del costruito come l’”edificio mondo-shopping center”, l’”edificio schermo architettonico” e il “media building”.
