Sensi e figure dell'urbano. Note a margine sulla 10ª Biennale di Architettura di Venezia

The essay was born as reflection on the contents of the 10th Biennale of Architecture in Venice (2006), entitled "Cities, architecture, society", highlighting a variety of relationships and contradictions between architectural practice and social effects (in Italy and abroad), evolution of the urban environment and quality of life of the inhabitants, global economic interests and the future of cities. I then examined a number of theories and projects on display during the exhibition bearers of positive effects on the social life of individuals and on the quality of urban environment, including: the design method of Patrick Bouchain; the contribution of Taiwan (the video “Earth House 003”/Sustainable Construction in Community: Ecological, Economical, Social); thee contribution of Germania “Convertible City: Modes of Densification and Dissolving Boundaries”.

Il testo nasce come riflessione sui contenuti della 10ª Biennale di Architettura di Venezia (2006), dal titolo “Città, architettura, società”, evidenziando tutta una serie di relazioni e di contraddizioni tra pratica architettonica ed effetti sul sociale (in Italia e all’estero), evoluzione dell’ambiente urbano e qualità della vita degli abitanti, interessi economici globali e futuro delle città. Vengono quindi presi in esame una serie teorie e progetti esposti nel corso della mostra portatori di effetti positivi sulla socialità degli individui e sulla qualità dell’ambiente urbano, tra cui: il metodo progettuale di Patrick Bouchain; il contributo di Taiwan (il video “Earth House 003”/Sustainable Construction in Community: Ecological, Economical, Social); il contributo della Germania “Convertible City: Modes of Densification and Dissolving Boundaries”.
