Ito Digitale. Nuovi media, nuovo reale

This book is about the relation between the use of the new electronic technologies in the design field and the possibility of evolution of the contemporary architecture from a structural point of view and in relation to a new way to live in the built spaces, to live the relation with the environment, with a specific reference to the research work of Toyo Ito. Some Ito’s architectures are analyzed together with the different technologies used to build them. The computer processing of the ideas and the collaboration with well-known engineers have allowed Ito to suggest very innovative structural solutions that at the same time produce positive effects on the spaces conformation, on their enjoyment and aesthetic perception, in comparison with an urban environment more and more homogeneous and where the people are very often disorientated.

Il tema trattato nel testo riguarda uno studio sistematico dell’operato di Toyo Ito per inquadrarne il contributo innovativo all’interno del panorama dell’architettura contemporanea. In questo senso, vengono prese in esame alcune architetture realizzate da Ito dove l’elaborazione computerizzata delle idee progettuali e la collaborazione con noti ingegneri di fama internazionale hanno permesso all’architetto giapponese di proporre soluzioni innovative da un punto di vista estetico, strutturale e spaziale, con effetti positivi sulla nascita di nuove possibili relazioni tra architettura e spazio urbano contemporaneo.
