In the context of the Digital Humanities, the article explores the constant evolution of visual imaging by highlighting its opportunities for the visual narration of literary texts. The research tests two digital storytelling strategies and proposes an interdisciplinary approach aimed at promoting the understanding, study and interpretation of Dino Buzzati’s literary production. The proposed narrative strategies involve both two-dimensional representations—through AI systems for the production of 2D images\sand three-dimensional visualization, through the development of an image-based virtual reality application. Through the short story “Suicide in the Park”, published by Buzzati in 1963, the research illustrates different modes of visual narration, highlighting the possibilities and limits of the approaches tested for the visual communication of the “fantastic narrative” of the Veneto writer.
