Taking as the starting point of her study two famous short stories, "Die Ermordung einer Butterblume" by Alfred Doeblin und "Der Irre" by Georg Heym, the article explores the frail boundary separating what is considered to be 'normal' from the 'abnormal' - an important focus in these years.
