This paper aims to describe the practice of ‘double-writing’ in Linear A and Linear B: the analysis of the various attestations highlights that this strategy cannot be reduced to a mere communicative redundancy, but covers different functions. Moreover, a continuity between the Minoan linear writing and the Mycenaean one clearly emerges, supported by the mise en page of the document, despite of the scarcity of attestations useful for comparison in the corpus of Linear A.

Abstract
This paper aims to describe the practice of ‘double-writing’ in Linear A and Linear B: the analysis of the various attestations highlights that this strategy cannot be reduced to a mere communicative redundancy, but covers different functions. Moreover, a continuity between the Minoan linear writing and the Mycenaean one clearly emerges, supported by the mise en page of the document, despite of the scarcity of attestations useful for comparison in the corpus of Linear A.File in questo prodotto:
