Gli studi internazionali sulla Democrazia cristiana italiana. Qualche considerazione introduttiva

The article examines the international scholarly literature on the Italian Christian Democratic Party produced by historians and political scientists. The author remarks that this literature has been significant, although not particularly abundant, and examines the various readings that have been proposed over the decades, from the first coeval interpretations to the more documented reflections of the years that followed the end of the Cold War. What emerges from this analysis is the picture of a rich and multifaceted literature, which however still shows some shortcomings, also due to the marginal attention international scholars have paid to the Italian political history.
