Aneris: Laura Pugno, i manga e la riscrittura di un mito (rovesciato)

Starting from the novel by Laura Pugno Sirene, the study intends to deal with the debt declared by the writer towards two manga by Rumiko Takahashi and Saroshi Kon, translated into Italian in the nineties of the last century. The three texts share not only narrative contents (nightmare world, lack of hope, sense of imminent end), but also some formal expedients (iconic ability; incisive and fluid syntactic-linguistic choices that recall the progression of the cartoons). But tue attention of this contribution is above all their interpretation of the archetype of the mermaid and the way in which they explore the boundaries of myth, giving life to visionary and perturbing narratives. In the three writings the myth is suspended in space and time and they show the dismantling, the desacralization and the consequent annulment of the myth. This demonstrates how the ancient myths draw their semantic potential from being removed from tradition and how they ensure immortality thanks to rewriting and reinterpretations

Partendo dal romanzo di Laura Pugno Sirene, lo studio intende occuparsi del debito dichiarato dalla scrittrice nei confronti di due manga arrivati in Italia negli anni Novanta dello scorso secolo a firma di Rumiko Takahashi e Saroshi Kon. I tre testi condividono non solo contenuti narrativi (mondo da incubo, mancanza di speranza, senso di fine imminente), ma anche alcuni espedienti formali (capacità iconica; scelte sintattico-linguistiche incisive e fluide che ricordano l’andamento delle vignette). Ma è soprattutto la lettura che gli scritti qui convocati fanno dell'archetipo della sirena e la modalità con la quale esplorano i confini del mito, dando vita a narrazioni visionarie e perturbanti, che si appunta l’attenzione di questo contributo. Nei tre scritti il mito è sospeso nello spazio e nel tempo e si assiste allo smantellamento, alla desacralizzazione e al conseguente annullamento del mito. Ciò dimostra come i miti antichi traggano il loro potenziale semantico dall’allontanamento dalla tradizione e si assicurino l’immortalità grazie alle riscritture e alle reinterpretazioni
