Beyond and before the mainstream criticism of/on T.S. Eliot’s and E. Pound’s poetry, there are some lasting features of their poetry, less evident (and less researched, or ignored by “official” criticism) but not less important, meaningful, and telling, which go back to the most remote/ancestral features and origins of Poetry itself: its roots in shamanism, in sacred and religious ritual, its function as hierophantic means of revelation. Both Eliot and Pound, also thanks to their deep interest in anthropology, philosophy, comparative religions, and the sacred, manifest more or less openly such characteristics throughout the whole parable of their poetic output. The analysis traces and demonstrates through representative textual examples such characteristic.

Abstract
The analysis traces and demonstrates through representative textual examples such characteristic.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
