This is the first standard grammar of the so called Cimbrian language, spoken in the village of Luserna (south of Trento). It has been made on behalf of the Regional Government of Trentino-South Tyrol and is written both in Italian and German. Cimbrian is one of the few scattered Germanic language islands which still exist in the mountain districts of northern Italy and preserves many characters of medieval German.
