Frontiera e alterità/Frontier and alterity Today’s debate upon the major theme of identity is often declined and seen through the imageries of the fellow man (neighbour and similar), the imageries of the stranger (a person who crosses the frontier and who is a foreigner), and the imagery of the Exotic (literally “everything that is external to the eye of the beholder”). In the consideration of the changing relation between the “I” and the “Other”, the ontological process of this complex dialectic is here seen through August Strindberg’s novel Syndaboken.
