The paper presents the preliminary results of a national survey conducted in Italy on a representative sample of 1500 individuals (47.9% men and 52.1% women) aimed at understanding the phenomenon of critical consumption. Specifically, we have tried, through the data, to find an answer to the question whether the phenomenon of responsible consumption – thus the emergence of an ethical consumer - is a real trend of the contemporary society or if it is just a temporary phenomenon or, worse, a fad. The research was carried out by administering a structured questionnaire designed to investigate three specific areas: behavior, attitude and participation related to the issue of responsible consumption.

Abstract
The paper presents the preliminary results of a national survey conducted in Italy on a representative sample of 1500 individuals (47.9% men and 52.1% women) aimed at understanding the phenomenon of critical consumption. Specifically, we have tried, through the data, to find an answer to the question whether the phenomenon of responsible consumption – thus the emergence of an ethical consumer - is a real trend of the contemporary society or if it is just a temporary phenomenon or, worse, a fad. The research was carried out by administering a structured questionnaire designed to investigate three specific areas: behavior, attitude and participation related to the issue of responsible consumption.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
