The journalistic novel is the mean to show the boundary between literature and journalism and nowadays, in a certain extent, it seems to represent the new literature made by people who go in search of stories in the most disparate, remote and extraordinary places of the world. The journalistic novel proposes a new kind of journalism which uses the possible contaminations among information, circulation of news and literary entertainment. By collecting in a volume the articles published on a newspaper, the reporter saves not only his/her articles from oblivion where today’s accumulation of information is likely to confine, but even he/she enhances his/her role as a writer and witness of the world where he/she lives. The journalistic novel offers a wide range of variants: here I will analyse some types (war, costume, sport reporting…) and I will discuss some particular cases (Fallaci; Mo; Terzani; Buzzati; Severgnini; Lucarelli) which will show the reasons of the redemption of this genre.
