Beckett: Still Stirring

An analysis of Beckett's relationship with realism and the post modern. This article argues that while Beckett was indeed engaged in undermining the literary convention of realism, he was nevertheless extremely determined to capture the real, so far as was possible with words, or alternatively, to capture the real failure of words to capture the real. Three texts are analysed from different phases of his career.
